    Description

September in the Rain Gold Rust Twin Production Cel (Warner Brothers, 1937). This original 12 field production cel comes from the Friz Freleng-directed "nighttime in a grocery store" short, where labels on various products come to life and put on a show. Due to racially insensitive images, the cartoon is rarely shown in full. The original "Gold Dust Twins" were two Black children that appeared on cans of household soap powder. Here is an original hand-inked, hand-painted cel of one of the "Gold Rust Twins" who appear in the often-censored final sequence of the short. This happy tutu-wearing twin has an overall image size of 4.5" x 4.75". The cel is noted as 2 in the lower right corner. Small paint chips next to an eye, and in the twin's tutu. Good condition.
