Description

The Simpsons "Homer at the Bat" First-Generation Script Signed by 9 Baseball Legends (Gracie/Fox, 1991). "It's something very special: a homemade bat." This is an exceedingly rare 8.5'' x 11'' first generation script from The Simpsons, Season 3 episode "Homer at the Bat," signed by nine baseball legends: Roger Clemens, Wade Boggs, Ken Griffey Jr., Steve Sax, Don Mattingly, Ozzie Smith, Darryl Strawberry, José Canseco, and Mike Scioscia. This early draft represents the initial complete version of the episode, created prior to revisions or production changes, and offers a remarkable glimpse into the development of one of the most beloved episodes in the series. In this classic storyline, Mr. Burns wagers $1,000,000 that his company softball team can defeat a rival plant. To ensure victory, he recruits an all-star roster of Major League Baseball players, assigning them jobs at the plant to maintain the illusion of fairness. What follows is a series of comedic misfortunes that befall the ringers, leaving the outcome hilariously uncertain. Created by Matt Groening, The Simpsons debuted in 1989 and quickly became a cultural phenomenon, ultimately becoming the longest-running primetime scripted series in television history. First generation scripts are highly sought after for their connection to the creative process. Signed examples featuring multiple sports icons are exceptionally scarce. Presented in Very Good condition, this script is an exciting find for both animation and sports memorabilia collectors.
