School Days in Disneyville Donald Duck and Pluto Illustration on Cel (D.C. Heath and Co., 1939). Although better known as a publisher of textbooks, the D.C. Heath company issued several Disney-themed storybooks beginning in 1939. Each book was illustrated by the Disney Studios' Ink and Paint Department, using hand-inked, hand-painted cels. Here's one of those illustrations: a superb image of of Donald Duck in a classroom, with Pluto looking though the back door; it's painted, animation-style on a sheet of 12 field 5-peghole nitrate cel. The image area measures approximately 6.25" x 6.5". The notation 3134 # 12 is written in the lower right corner. The cel is quite fragile but image appears undamaged. Condition is Good with minor edge rippling.
