Robin Hood Hand-Painted Production Cels (Walt Disney, 1973).
Robin Hood, Disneys 21st animated feature film, was released on November 8, 1973 to box office success, grossing more than six times its production budget of $5M. The film received positive reviews by critics who praised the voice cast, animation, and humor. From Robin Hood we have two original production cels. Both cels have been laminated by Disney and are stamped A Walt Disney Studios Original. The first piece features Alan-a-Dale, the rooster who introduces the story and is voiced by country music legend, Roger Miller. The image measures 10" X 6". The second piece shows one of the rhino guards chasing Lady Cluck. This cel has a small staple hole in the upper left corner away from the image. Both pieces have lamination failure. The artwork is in mats measuring 20" x 16". Mats are sold as-is. Included in this lot are the certificates of authenticity issued by Walt Disney Productions which are affixed to the back of the mats. Other than the lamination failure and staple hole; both pieces are in Fair to Good condition.
