    Description

Rabbit Every Monday/Rabbit Rampage Bugs Bunny Production Cel with Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1951/1955). This is a stunning hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Bugs Bunny from the short Rabbit Rampage, which was a sequel of sorts to Duck Amuck. Directed by Chuck Jones and released on 6/11/55, this time Bugs is the victim of Elmer Fudd's off-screen hijinks. This exact image can be seen around the 2:00 mark when Bugs is made to hold signs such as "I Won't Work!" It's a tremendous 7" tall, full figure image of Bugs. Most vintage Warner Brothers cels of this era were thrown away, making a cel of this quality almost impossible to find. To add to its rarity, it sits on a hand-painted 12 field production background from the Friz Freleng-directed short Rabbit Every Monday. This was a classic Bugs Bunny vs. Yosemite Sam cartoon, released on 2/10/51. The background can be seen around the 4:21 mark when Bugs says, "Here, throw this on the fire... I just love the smell of old hickory!" Painted by background artist Paul Julian, it's marked in border, "#1158 Sc 53 and 56" in pencil. The cel and background work perfectly together. This is an incredibly rare 1950s theatrical Bugs Bunny setup. Condition is Fine.
