Puss 'n Toots/Cat Fishin' Signed Production Cels (MGM, 1942/1947). This is an outstanding hand-inked, hand-painted setup of production cels of Tom and Jerry from their 1940s heyday. The Tom cel is from the sixth Tom and Jerry cartoon, Puss n Toots when Tom tries to woo the female cat, Toots. You can see this cel around the 2:37 mark. The short was released on 5/30/42. The Jerry cel is from the short Cat Fishin', where Tom used him as fish bait. It was released on 2/22/47. Both these cartoons were directed by Bill Hanna (1910 - 2001) and Joe Barbera (1911 - 2006). The two cels are on a studio production background. Great full-figure images of 3" and 6". As a bonus, the cels are hand-signed by both Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera. This is rare to find on any 1940s Tom and Jerry cels. This great setup is in a frame of 17" x 14" under Plexiglas with a mat opening of 11" x 8". Frame is sold as-is. Tom Cat has cracking in paint through, the Jerry cel is fine. Some glue stains on background. Overall Good condition. From the Forbes Collection.
