Pryde of the X-Men Storm Production Cel on Master Production Background (Marvel Studios, 1988). Fans of this Marvel comic take notice for this is not your average X-Men cel. In 1988, four years before Fox began airing their X-Men Saturday morning show produced by Saban, Marvel Studios created a pilot episode entitled "Pryde of the X-Men" featuring the classic X-Men team from the Chris Claremont and John Byrne era of the comics. Offered here is an original production cel setup of Storm from this early animated pilot. The hand-painted image of Storm measures 6.5" tall on a 10 field 4-cel setup which can be seen during the closing credits just as Stan Lee's name comes on the screen at the 21:09 mark. The setup is over a hand-painted master production background. This one-of-a-kind setup from the earliest attempt at an X-Men animated series is incredibly rare and not to be confused with animation pieces from the later series'. The art is in a 16" x 13.5" mat with a 10" x 7.5" window. A Marvel Certificate of Authenticity is om back.
