Zero the Hound Storyboard, Model Sheet, and Script Group (Max Fleischer, 1941). Fleischer Studio fans and scholars, you need to check this amazing lot out! This is a group of 115 original storyboard drawings, including the title, for the 1941 Animated Antic cartoon #B-10-4, referred to here as "Zero - the Hunting Hound." The artwork is in graphite and color pencils on 12 field top 3-peghole paper. In addition to the storyboards (which are filled with great gags involving the dog catching a cold, and a stray bear), there is an animator's practice sheet of the Hunter, drawn in red pencil; two copies of a 15-page typed script by Carl Meyer, and three printed Studio model sheets of the Hunter, Zero the Hound, and the unnamed duck that is being chased throughout the short. This is an instant history of the creation of a cartoon by an important studio, and originally came from the estate of animator Thomas Johnson. Very Good overall condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
