Description

Ye Olden Days Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Crowd Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). Mickey and Minnie get to crowd surf in this charming 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing from the end of the 1933 Ye Olden Days theatrical short. The drawing is done in graphite and color pencil. This is the second to last shot of the short and it features a beautiful crowd drawing showing Mickey the minstrel's victory after saving princess Minnie. It can be found at roughly the 8:02 mark. The short is loosely based on the novel Ivanhoe by Sir Walter Scott and was directed by Burt Gillett (1891 - 1971). The drawing measures about 10.5'' x 8'' and several of the characters have been trimmed to their figures for prop setup. This includes several of the people, spears, and Donkey in the foreground of the image as well as Mickey and Minnie themselves. Mickey and Minnie may be a little loose. The page is labeled 5B in the bottom right and has a couple of small animation notes. There is minor handling and edge wear as well as minor toning from age and reinforced pegholes. This delightful piece is in Good condition.
