Ye Olden Days Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1933). Wandering minstrel Mickey must fight Prince Dippy Dog (Goofy) for the hand of fair Princess Minnie, in this delightful short directed by Burt Gillett. The cartoon was loosely based on the classic novel Ivanhoe; it was released to theaters on 4/8/33. In the film, Mickey defeats Dippy and in his victory ride through the kingdom, he pulls Minnie up on his "steed" (a donkey). These three original 12 field animation drawings are from this climatic sequence. The drawing noted in the lower right corner as 40 can be seen on YouTube at the 8:02 mark; figure sizes are 2.25" for Mickey and 3.25" for Minnie. The drawing noted as #76 shows the pair sitting together, with an overall image size of 3" x 3". The final drawing in this set is a real winner: it depicts their kiss, as seen in silhouette behind Minnie's fan; combined image size measures 3.25" x 2.5". Art is in graphite with added blue and green pencil on the last two drawings. All three pages have reinforced pegholes, with minor handling and edge wear; drawing #40 has a tiny edge tear near the left peghole, well away from the image area. Very Good overall condition.
