Description

Ye Olden Days Guards and Mickey Mouse Pair of Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1933). "Guards! Guards!" The guards pull Mickey and Princess Minnie, hidden in the clothes the mouse used for a makeshift rope, through the window and prepare to toss them in front of the king. This fun pair of 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings come from the classic 1933 Burt Gillett-directed short that followed minstrel Mickey as he rescues Princess Minnie from her arranged marriage to the Prince of Poopoopadoo. It's an endearing short and the spirit of it is captured here in this pair graphite with color pencil animation drawings of the nearly hidden Mickey outside of Minnie's tower and the guards pulling him in, found at about 5:23 and 5:26 in the theatrical short. The figures measure about 7.25'' x 7.75'' and 2.75'' x 8'', labeled 159 and 92 in the bottom right corner. They exhibit minor age-related toning with light edge and handling wear, and faint smudging. Good to Very Good condition.
