    World War II Insignia Sketch by Hank Porter (Walt Disney, 1940s). Hank Porter ran the Disney Publicity Art Department, drew Sunday Snow White comic strips, created many of the illustrations for the Good Housekeeping Disney pages, and oversaw a company-wide program to provide over 1500 World War II Insignias to all phases of the military. This is amazing preliminary artwork of Dopey was probably used for Cadet Education and/or recruiting materials for the Civil Air Patrol. The patch that stands behind Dopey is a very early Civil Air Patrol cadet shoulder patch. Graphite and colored pencil on tracing paper, measuring 9" x 8.25". Dopey is 5.5". Fine condition. Originally from the Hank Porter Estate.
