Description

Woodland Café Grasshopper Trombonist Animation Drawing Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1937). Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey, step aside for the Woodland's finest! In this splendid Silly Symphony short directed by Wilfred Jackson, the grasshopper trombonist figures out a novel way to scratch an itch and not miss a beat. He goes at it by using his foot in this rare sequence of three original 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings. The drawing noted in the lower right as 27 can be seen in the cartoon at about the 1:42 timestamp, while drawings 70 and 77 are both from 1:45. The art is in graphite with red pencil highlights and faint blue pencil notes for the inker; approximate image sizes are 6.6" x 7.25"; 7.5" x 6"; and 7.25" x 6.25". The drawings are in Very Good condition with minor handling and edge wear, and slight age-related paper toning.
