    Description

Willie the Operatic Whale Animation Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1946).
Willie the Operatic Whale also known as The Whale Who Wanted to Sing at the Met, was released theatrically on 8/15/46 as a segment in Make Mine Music, then re-issued the following year accompanying a re-issue of Fantasia as a short subject before the film. Willie the Operatic Whale was produced by Walt Disney, with Nelson Eddy providing the voice of both the narrator and various characters. Two of "Walt's Nine Old Men", Ward Kimball and John Lounsbery are credited as animators in this Clyde Geronimi-directed short. In this lot are two fantastic drawings of Willie measuring 8" x 9" and 10" x 9.5". These rare drawings feature Willie on stage at the Met and can be seen at the 11:37 mark. The illustrations were rendered in graphite and colored pencil on 16 field 5-peghole animation paper. Normal edge wear, light corner crease on one piece, mild toning due to age. Overall condition is Very Good.
