Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Jessica Rabbit Storyboard Art Group of 3 (Amblin/Disney, 1988). "I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way!" Some of the very first development work on this film was done by Storyboard/Concept Art artist Mr. David Russell. He was listed as Production Illustrator on this film. David Russell has done storyboards/concept art for over 80 major motion picture films. Some of the major motion pictures he worked on include Star Wars Episode IV - Return of the Jedi, Tombstone, The Thin Red Line, Batman (Tim Burton - 1989), Harlem Nights, Moulin Rouge, Wolverine, Narnia, and many others. He says that his job "is to create visual narrative of a film script, which they can act as a visual shooting guide for the entire films production team." A little known fact is that Penthouse Magazine released an issue with a naked Jessica Rabbit spread in both France and Italy. The US release of this magazine was stopped. One has to wonder if this early development storyboards had any effect on this publication's initial release. This lot is some of the earliest -- and rarest Jessica Rabbit and Roger Rabbit production art ever offered: a set of three David Russell original storyboards of Jessica Rabbit. One is of Jessica Rabbit "NAKED" in Eddie Valiant's bathroom. Production notes read "She slowly covers up!" A second one is of Jessica at the Ink and Paint Club, approaching Eddie, and a third one is of MGM's Wolfie seeing Jessica and doing the classic Tex Avery eyes shot, as he did with Red Hot. All are graphite and blue pencil on 11.5" x 8" storyboard paper panels. This is some of the earliest work done on this landmark film. Minor handling wear. In Very Good condition.
