Water Babies Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935). This 1935 Wilfred Jackson-directed Silly Symphony short, first shown on 5/11/35, tapped into the immense popularity of Kewpie dolls, those cherub-faced happy little cupid-like imps found as carnival prizes, comic strips, and paper dolls. Here's a beautiful original 12 field, 2-peghole animation drawing from the water parade section of the film, as three Water Babies ride a pair of fish that jump and splash, at the 03:07 mark. This is a detailed rendering in graphite with red pencil highlights and lots of splashing water effects and it's numbered 12 in the bottom right corner. The piece has reinforced pegholes with mild age-related paper toning and minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
