Warner Brothers & Harman-Ising Studios Bosko the Talk-Ink Kid Original Animation Art and Ink Reconstructions Group of 4 (Warners, 1929-30). Rare conceptual drawings of one of the talking pictures' first cartoon characters: Bosko blazed a trail for such more lasting 'toon stars as Porky Pig and Bugs Bunny. The unsigned pencil drawings can be reasonably ascribed to creators Hugh Harman and Rudolf Ising. The fully inked replicas patently date from modern times, given the brightness of the Strathmore Bristol board and the simple fact that Harman & Ising rendered their title cards in shades of gray. Two pieces: Graphite and non-repro blue pencil on animation-registration paper. Two additionals: Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with added registration slots. Image area, 12.5" x 10.5". Moderate age-toning. Very Good condition. From A Collection of Great Cartoonists and Illustrators.
