Walt Disney's Lady and the Tramp Big Golden Book #427 Page 11 Illustration (Simon and Schuster, 1955). An original gouache on board published painting of the film's villain, Aunt Sarah! This painting was done for page 11 (including fly pages) in the Western Publishing's Big Golden Book #427 Walt Disney's Lady and the Tramp. There is an adorable image of Lady in upper corner with sock in her mouth. Dialogue was pasted up on 9.75" x 13.25" board. The title page of the book reads "Pictures by Walt Disney Studio, Adapted by Claude Coats". Claude Coats (1913-1992) was a premier studio background artist, with his work seen in over 20 animated films. The last film he painted for was Lady and the Tramp. In 1955 he moved over to WED and was an important Theme park Imagineer for the balance of his career. He was inducted as a Disney Legend in 1991. There is a staple hole in the top corner of the board from a previous framing, otherwise in Fine condition. Comes with a later copy of the published book.
