Description

Wally Walrus Illustration Signed by Walter Lantz (Walter Lantz, c. 1950-60s). Woody Woodpecker's antagonist was a Walrus with a Swedish accent named Wally Walrus. Wally liked to hum My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean, albeit somewhat off-key. His first appearance was in the 1944 theatrical short, The Beach Nut and his last theatrical appearance was Tricky Trout in 1961. This is an original art piece attributed to the hand of Mr. Walter Lantz and showing Wally as an artist, with a chicken as his model. The piece was created using graphite and colored pencil on illustration paper and signed by Walter Lantz in green pencil on bottom right corner. The composition is framed with Plexiglas measuring 15" x 15" with a mat opening of 8" x 9". Frame is sold as-is. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
