Description
Virgil Ross - Yosemite Sam "Model Sheet" Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s) The many faces and expressions of Yosemite Sam are beautifully rendered in this drawing by legendary animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Mr Ross spent much of his career with Warner Brothers, where he worked on more than 230 cartoons with the Friz Freleng unit. He is well-known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. In this drawing, done on 16 field 3-peghole animation paper, there are six images of Yosemite Sam ranging in size from 4" to 7.5". They are rendered in graphite with blue pencil underdrawing.
