    Virgil Ross - Yosemite Sam Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996) was a long-time Warner Brothers animator who worked in the Bob Clampett, Tex Avery, and Friz Freleng Units. Known best for his action and dance sequences, he animated on three Looney Tunes shorts that received Academy Award nominations - "Tweety Pie", "Birds Anonymous" and the only cartoon that Bugs Bunny won an Academy Award for, "Knighty Knight Bugs." In 1988,he was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Masters Collection" for the Warner Brothers Studio Stores and animation galleries. At personal appearances requests were made for original drawings such as this. This is a rootin' tootin', gun-totin' original drawing of Yosemite Sam on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper signed by Mr. Ross. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
