    Description

Virgil Ross - Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny Sequenced Pan Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s).
"Listen, stranger. This town ain't big enough fer the two of us!" "It ain't? Eh, pardon me, Mac." This is the dialog between Sam and Bugs as they square off, in the classic 1948 Friz Freleng-directed short, Bugs Bunny Rides Again. Here's a fantastic sequenced drawing of Sam and Bugs ready to shoot it out, with three images of each character. Longtime Warner Brothers animator Virgil Ross created this fun drawing on pan animation paper measuring 24.75" x 10.5". Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is similar to his limited edition cel called "Gun Slingers," which quickly sold out. The drawing features image sizes ranging from 6.5" to 7.5", and is in Fine condition.
