Virgil Ross - Yosemite Sam and Bugs Bunny Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Great horny toads! "Riff Raff" Sam has "a bead" on Bugs, in this drawing inspired by the 1955 Looney Tunes classic, Sahara Hare, directed by Friz Freleng. Virgil Ross was for many years one of the animators in Freleng's unit at Warner Brothers. His long, distinguished career also included stints with Walter Lantz (in the 1930s), Filmation (Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The Archie Show, Star Trek: The Animated Series), DePatie-Freleng (The All-New Pink Panther Show, The Fantastic Four), Hanna-Barbera (The Flintstones, The Smurfs), and more. In 1988, Mr. Ross was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award. This is an original signed drawing by Virgil Ross on 12 field animation paper, with image sizes of 6" and 7.5".
