    Description

Virgil Ross - Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s).
"Beep beep!" (Insert sound of Road Runner's tongue sticking out!) This classic image opened many a fan-favorite cartoon, starring the impossible-to-catch Road Runner and always-starving Wile E. Coyote. The art is by long-time WB animator Virgil Ross, known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is drawn on 12 field animation paper, with a combined image size of 11" x 4.5". Fine condition.
