Description

Virgil Ross - Sylvester and Tweety Bird Vertical Pan Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s).
That "bad ol' puddy tat" Sylvester was always looking for a way to get Tweety out of her cage. In the classic short Tweety Pie, Sylvester stacks tables and chairs together to get up to the cage, only to find Tweety sawing away at the table leg below. That memorable scene has been in part recreated by Virgil Ross, in this oversized drawing. Mr. Ross worked in animation for over 50 years, beginning in 1934; in addition to Warner Brothers, where he worked in units headed by Tex Avery, Robert Clampett, and Friz Freleng, he spent time at DePatie-Freleng, Hanna-Barbera, Filmation (working on Star Trek: The Animated Series and many others), and even assisted on several Disney films like The Little Mermaid. This signed 25" x 10.5" animation sheet is similar to Mr. Ross' long sold out "Bad Ol' Puddy Tat" limited edition cel; it has image sizes of 6.5" and 3", and is in Fine condition with slight handling wear.
