    Virgil Ross - Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Cat Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Mrs. Sylvester J. Pussycat protects her little bundle from heaven from her ravenous husband in this drawing inspired by the 1953 Friz Freleng-directed short A Mouse Divided. The animation for this scene was directed by longtime Warner Brothers animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Mr. Ross was a longtime member of the Friz Freleng animation unit. The characters together measure 7" x 12" on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper that is signed in the lower right. Drawings like this were sold at personal appearances at Warner Brothers Studio Store Galleries and Animation Art Galleries where Mr. Ross promoted a unique line of limited edition cels. Minor handling and edge wear. Condition is Fine.
