    Description

Virgil Ross - Michigan J. Frog Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Longtime Warner Brothers animator Virgil Ross treats us to a fun image of Michigan J. Frog, first seen in the 1955 short, One Froggy Evening. In addition to Warners, Mr. Ross spent time at the Walter Lantz Studio, Hanna-Barbera, and Filmation, where he worked on Star Trek: The Animated Series. He received the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. Michigan looks like he ready to sing "Hello Ma Baby" in this sketch, done by Mr. Ross in blue pencil and graphite on a sheet of 12 field animation paper. The nicely colored-in image measures 6.75" tall. Signed by Virgil Ross in the lower right. Fine condition.
