Virgil Ross - Elmer Fudd, Humphrey Bogart, and Bugs Bunny Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "I'm afwaid we're fwesh out of wabbit." says Elmer to Bogie in this original drawing inspired by the 1947 cartoon, Slick Hare. One of the artists on this Friz Freleng-directed short was longtime Warner Brothers animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. At personal appearances, Mr. Ross also offered signed drawings such as this. The 9" x 7.5" image is on 12 field animation paper and bears a Virgil Ross signature in the lower right. Minor handling and condition is Very Good.
