Description

Virgil Ross - Elmer Fudd, Humphrey Bogart, and Bugs Bunny Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "You've got just five minutes to get me a rabbit!" says Bogie to Elmer, waiter at the "Mocrumbo" nightclub, in this original drawing inspired by the great 1947 cartoon, Slick Hare. One of the artists on that Friz Freleng-directed short was longtime Warner Brothers animator Virgil Ross, who created this fun illustration of Bogart threatening Elmer, while Bugs watches with a smile and a carrot in his hand. Several of the cartoons Mr. Ross worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and he was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. After leaving Warner Brothers, he spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed drawing is matted with an opening of 11.5" x 8.5", and is framed with glass for an overall size of 15" x 12". Frame is sold as-is. Drawing is in Fine condition.
