    Virgil Ross - Daffy Duck, Gossamer, and Bugs Bunny Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Big tennis shoe-wearing monster Gossamer poses with two of his co-stars in this fun sketch by award-winning animator Virgil Ross. Mr. Ross (1907 - 1996) had a long-spanning career in animation, where he worked closely with legends like Ub Iwerks, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, and Tex Avery, with whom he created Bugs Bunny in the 1940 cartoon, A Wild Hare. Several shorts animation by Mr. Ross went on to win the Academy Award, including Knighty Knight Bugs (1958). This piece was drawn by Mr. Ross in blue pencil and graphite on a sheet of 12 field animation paper, with image sizes of 7" - 9". Fine condition. Signed in the lower right.
