Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny with Rocky and Mugsy Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Bugs puts up his dukes in this encounter with Rocky and Mugsy, in this splendid drawing by longtime Looney Tunes animator Virgil Ross. These gangsters appeared in several Bugs Bunny cartoons directed by Friz Freleng and animated by Mr. Ross, including Bugs and Thugs (1954), Bugsy and Mugsy (1957), and The Unmentionables (1963). In addition to Warner Brothers Studio, Virgil Ross worked at Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, and others during a career that stretched back to the 1930s. In 1988 he was given the prestigious Windsor McCay Award. The drawing measures 10.5" x 7.5" on 12 field 3-peghole paper and is signed by Virgil Ross in the lower right.
