Description

Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). You can almost hear Bugs singing, "She's da daughter of Rosie O'Grady, a regular old fashioned goil" in this fun sketch by animation legend Virgil Ross, based on the 1947 short, A Hare Grows in Manhattan. The award-winning Mr. Ross' long career as an animator included stints at many studios, where he worked alongside luminaries like Ub Iwerks, Bob Clampett, Walter Lantz, and Friz Freleng. He worked on many Bugs Bunny cartoons, including the first "official" Bugs short, A Wild Hare (1940). This piece was drawn on a sheet of 12 field animation paper, and is signed in the lower right. Fine condition.
