Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny Baseball-Themed Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Baseball fan Bugs gets roughed up by a hulking member of the Gas House Gorillas, in this Virgil Ross drawing. It was inspired by the 1946 Looney Tunes short, Baseball Bugs, directed by Friz Freleng, a cartoon Mr. Ross helped animate; it was one of many he worked on for Warners from the 1930s until the 1960s (and beyond; he did added animation on several feature-length compilations and TV shows into the '90s). He also worked at Hanna-Barbera (The Flintstones and other shows) and Filmation (The Archies, Star Trek) This piece was created by Mr. Ross on a sheet of 12 field animation paper, with image sizes of 8" and 6". Fine condition. Signed in the lower right.
