    Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). This scene inspired by the 1948 short "High Diving Hare" was animated by Virgil Ross, who worked in the Friz Freleng (1906 -1995) unit. Mr. Ross was in fact part of the team that produced the first official Bugs Bunny cartoon," A Wild Hare" in 1940. After 30 years with Warner Brothers, he moved on to television work with Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, and DePatie-Freleng studios. This is an original drawing rendered in blue pencil and graphite by Virgil Ross on a sheet of 12 field animation 3-peghole paper with a combined image area of approximately 11" x 8.5". The drawing is signed, and and shows minor handling. Fine condition.
