Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Porky and his hunting dog are baffled by the sight of a Bugs Bunny resplendent in bright blue tutu in this wild drawing by Virgil Ross (1907 - 1991). This scene was inspired by the 1943 Bob Clampett-directed Merrie Melodies short, A Corny Concerto which was a parody of Disney's Fantasia. This scene is from the Tales from the Vienna Woods segment which was animated in part by Virgil Ross. Mr. Ross was known for his lively action scenes and funny facial expressions. After his long association with Warners, he moved on to Hanna-Barbera and Filmation studios among others. This rare hand-drawn image of Bugs together with Porky measures 9.5" x 11" on a sheet of 12 field 3-peghole animation paper and is signed in the lower left by Virgil Ross. Minor handling, condition is Very Good.
