Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Gossamer Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "My stars! Where did you ever get that awful hairdo? Here, for goodness sake, let me fix it up!" Bugs plays hairdresser to Gossamer, in this scene inspired the Looney Tune short "Water, Water Every Hare" directed by Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002). It was the second appearance of Gossamer. This fantastic drawing was created by longtime Warner Brothers animator, Virgil Ross, who was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios after leaving Warner Brothers, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted limited edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection". He would make personal appearances to promote his cels at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries and drawings like this were created to be sold at those appearances. This signed piece is drawn on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper, with a combined image area of 11.5" x 8". Minor handling. Fine condition
