Description

Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Friends Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s).
One of the joys of growing up in the 1960s-90s was watching The Bugs Bunny Show on Saturday morning television. It was a great chance to see some of the many cartoon characters in the Warner Brothers canon; many of those classic characters appear in this drawing by longtime WB artist Virgil Ross. Included are Wile E. Coyote, Tweety Bird, Elmer Fudd, Bugs Bunny, Beep-Beep the Road Runner, and Marvin the Martian. Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is drawn on 12 field animation paper, with a combined image area of 11" x 9"; condition is Fine.
