Description

Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "Barber of Seville" Bugs presents his "bride" Elmer Fudd with a ring, in this illustration inspired by the franticly funny 1950 Chuck Jones-directed Looney Tunes short, Rabbit of Seville. Artist Virgil Ross was one of Warner's top animator for over thirty years; he worked primarily with directors Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, and Friz Freleng. Ross was known for his ability to animate dance scenes, and was a master of funny expressions. He went on to stints at Hanna-Barbera and Filmation (where he animated the Saturday Morning Star Trek series), even freelancing on several Disney features like The Little Mermaid. He drew Bugs and Elmer on a sheet of 12 field animation paper, with image sizes of 7" and 8". Fine condition. "Eh... next!"
