    Description

Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Bugs and Elmer perform a brief ballet dance in this scene, inspired by what many consider the greatest cartoon short ever made, the Chuck Jones-directed What's Opera, Doc? (1957). This superb drawing of the "star-crossed lovers" from Wagner's opera was created by longtime Warner Brothers animator, Virgil Ross. Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is drawn on 12 field animation paper, with image sizes of 6.5" x 8". Sing along with us: "Oh Brunnhilde, you're so lovely!" "Yes, I know it, I can't help it!" Fine condition.
