Description
Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Beaky Buzzard Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Dim-witted Beaky Buzzard (called "Killer" by his mother, but he's anything but) gets heckled by his supposed prey Bugs, in this original drawing, inspired by the 1942 Bob Clampett-directed short, Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid. You can see this happen at about the 4:35 mark into the short. One of the artists who worked on this cartoon was Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Mr. Ross specialized in animating action and dance sequences, and for his knack with funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. The signed artwork is matted with an opening of 12" x 9" and framed using glass for an overall size of 15" x 12". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Fine.More information about Virgil Ross.
