Description

Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Babyface Finster Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Dwarf gangster "Babyface" Finster isn't fooling Bugs, in this original drawing by legendary animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). It was inspired by the 1954 Chuck Jones-directed Merrie Melodies short, Baby Buggy Bunny. Mr. Ross spent many years as an animator with Warner Brothers, going back the the 1930s; he worked on many Bugs Bunny cartoons, including the first "official" Bugs short, A Wild Hare. Over the years, Ross worked with Charles Mintz, Walter Lantz, Ub Iwerks, Tex Avery, Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, and others during a long career that included time spent at Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. This piece is drawn by Mr. Ross on a sheet of 12 field animation paper, with image sizes of 6.5" and 10". Fine condition. Signed in the lower right.
