Description

Two-Gun Mickey Mickey Mouse Original Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1934). Mickey holds on for dear life in this outstanding original animation drawing from Two-Gun Mickey, long considered to be one of Mickey's greatest shorts. The Ben Sharpsteen-directed short was theatrically released over 90 years ago on 12/15/1934 with animation done by future Disney Legends and many of Disney's future "Nine Old Men" Art Babbitt, Les Clark, Ollie Johnston, Eric Larson, Hamilton Luske, Fred Moore, and Wolfgang Reitherman. Mickey took on the role of one of the greatest gunslingers in the west and fought to rescue cowgirl Minnie from Pete's clutches. This terrific 12 field drawing was created for a tense scene found at about the 8:28 timestamp, when the gunslinging mouse holds on to a root and tries not to fall from a cliff. Mickey's full-figure, measuring approximately 2" x 5", is rendered masterfully in graphite with a touch of red colored pencil on 2-peg hole animation paper that's noted 125 in the lower right corner. The overall condition is Very Good with light edge and handling wear, and faint age-related toning.
