Description
Two Gun Mickey Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1934). "On your way, cowboy - I can take care of myself!" After being snubbed by an indignant Minnie, cowboy Mickey comes to her aid against Peg Leg Pete and his band of thieves. The gang of thugs robbed her just as she was leaving the bank with a large sack of coins. Released on December 15, 1934, and directed by Ben Sharpsteen, this spirited film featured Mickey as a do-gooder cowboy, in the style of the popular "B" westerns of the day. If you look closely, you will notice Pete's peg leg changing sides throughout the film! From high atop his mountain perch, Mickey has spied the whole scene, He leaps on his horse (who promptly trips), and the two go rolling end over end down the mountain. In this original animation drawing, the pair have just landed on a spindly tree and are sliding down the trunk. The drawing can be seen at the 4m38s mark in the film. Rendered in graphite and colored pencil on 12 field 2-peghole paper, Mickey and his horse measure roughly 4" x 3". Slight toning on paper; in Fine condition.Auction Info
