Description

Trader Mickey Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932).
Mickey Mouse and Pluto are traveling up an African river with a cargo of goods which includes musical instruments. After they hit land, Mickey and Pluto are captured by cannibals who plan to eat them. However when one of the cannibals uses a saxophone to stir the pot with Mickey, he takes the sax away from the cannibal and begins to play it and they all start jamming to "The Darktown Strutter's Ball." In this lot we have an image of Mickey and the cannibal chief which can be seen around the 4:10 mark in the short. The drawing was created using graphite with colored pencil on 12 field 2-peghole animation paper. The image area measures 5.5" x 4.5" with Mickey measuring 2.5" tall. Trader Mickey was directed by David Hand and released on 8/20/32. Walt Disney not only produced Trader Mickey but he provided the voice for Mickey along with vaudeville actor, Pinto Clovig who voiced Pluto. The artwork has slight toning of the paper due to age. Condition is Very Good.
