Trader Mickey Animation Drawings Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1932). Mickey has a boat loaded down with trinkets to sell in Africa, but right off the boat he finds himself (and Pluto) at the mercy of mean-looking cannibals. Luckily they like music! Here's a great set of four original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawings from this David Hand-directed short, released on 8/20/32. Here the sequence where Mickey is conversing with the chief cannibal, who is wearing a lady's corset as his new "crown." In the drawings, the chief has just swallowed a harmonica, and Mickey has an idea -- poke the chief in the stomach -- he's ticklish, of course! The drawings are numbered 14, 18, 19, and 38; the first three occur at the 4:29 mark, and the last at the 4:34 mark. Mickey's figure sizes are 3.25", 2.5", 2.75", and 2.25", while the chief (seen in the last two drawings, waist up) measures about 4". Paper toning and minor handling wear; Very Good overall condition.
