Description

Tom Slick Original Drawing Signed by Gerard Baldwin (Jay Ward, c. 1990s-2000s). Tom Slick, the cartoon star of a series of shorts that aired within the animated series George of the Jungle, is featured here in this excellent original drawing by the hand of animation producer and director Gerard Baldwin. The "Tom Slick" segments of George of the Jungle follow the adventures of the freckled all-American racecar driver as he competes in various races with his trusty vehicle, the Thunderbolt Grease-Slapper. The running gag throughout the series is that the multi-functional vehicle can be converted into virtually any type of vehicle, seen here as a submarine. The prolific Gerard Baldwin's early directorial career began with Jay Ward studios, and he is especially well-known for his Emmy Award-winning work on Hanna-Barbera's The Smurfs. Rendered in ink and artist marker on sketch paper, this drawing is signed by the celebrated artist. The piece is matted with a window size of 10.5" x 8.5" and an overall mat size of 15.5" x 13.5". Very little handling, and the condition is Fine.
