Tom and Jerry Storybook Illustration Original Art (MGM/Whitman, c. 1950s). MGM's popular cat and mouse team were featured in no less than five Whitman children's storybooks in the 1950s. The primary artist for these was Jerry Eisenberg. This is an outstanding two-page published storybook painting showing Tom looking in a mouse hole at Jerry and Tuffy. It looks like Tuffy needs a diaper change in this painting! Little Tuffy was in almost all the Little Golden Books. This was done for pages 8 and 9; the bottom border is labeled #27726 Whit. Painted in gouache on illustration board with an overall size of 22" x 15", with great large images measuring 5" and 7". This is one large painting! Minor handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition.
