Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Original Storyboard Art Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1993). "...hail to the Pumpkin King!" Here is a great pair of original storyboards from the Henry Selick-directed classic stop-motion animated feature film. These storyboard drawings are attributed to the film's storyboard artist, Jorgen Klubien. Storyboarding in the form widely known today was developed at the Walt Disney studio during the early 1930s. According to John Canemaker, in Paper Dreams: The Art and Artists of Disney Storyboards, the first storyboards at Disney evolved from comic book-like "story sketches" created in the 1920s to illustrate concepts for animated cartoon short. The two storyboards offered in this lot feature Jack Skellington, known as the "Pumpkin King" of Halloween Town, each storyboard was rendered in graphite and Conté crayon on 8" x 5.5" paper. These impressive storyboards showing Jack "bonking" his head would be a nice acquisition for any collector. Condition is Very Good.Auction Info
