Description

Thru the Mirror Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1936). In this Mickey Mouse cartoon short, Mickey has a "Through the Looking Glass"-type dream in which he travels through his mirror and enters a topsy-turvy world where everything is alive. This animated short film was directed by David Hand, who would go on to be the supervising director on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Thru the Mirror was released on 5/30/36. The title is written as Thru the Mirror on the title card, but the alternative spelling Through the Mirror is used on the poster for the film. We have a great piece of vintage animation art from Thru the Mirror showing Mickey when he encounters a living umbrella. You will see this image around the 1:20 mark in the short. This one-of-a-kind drawing was created using graphite and red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The image area measures approximately 6" x 3.5". The piece has slight toning of the paper due to aging. The artwork is in Very Good condition.
