    Description

    The Wild Country Theatrical Poster Illustration by Paul Wenzel (Walt Disney, 1970). "The newcomers, green as the mountain country. They stood together to claim a dream." This is what is said on the one sheet theatrical poster for this movie. This film had the distinction of starring a young Ron Howard with his younger brother Clint. Steve Forest and Vera Miles played the parents, with Jack Elam as the villain. It was released on 12/15/70. This is the Paul Wenzel original acrylic painting for the upper half of the one sheet. It's a large painting, on illustration board measuring 29.5" x 22" with an image area of 24" x 18". Paul Wenzel worked for Disney for 42 years in Publicity and Consumer products. He was chosen to the paint the stamp for the US Post Office after Walt Disney passed. He has done artwork of over 1200 Disney one sheets. His published original artwork for these posters is very sought after. This is the exact painting used to make the theatrical poster for this film, signed by the artist in the lower left. Minor handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition.
